TRENDnet 3 port 1394 FireWire Card Installation. The TRENDnet firewire card was purchased online from amazon.com for $19.99 + shipping. The purpose of a firewire card is to allow data transfer from a digital device such a camcorder to a computer via firewire cord.

You can expect a Computer Shop to charge you $40 - $50 per hour to work on your computer... plus the cost of the parts. Well, taking your computer to a computer shop and paying the computer shop by the hour isn't really necessary if you simply want to install a fire wire card.

If you know how to read, if you have 2 eyes, and if you have 2 hands with opposable thumbs you can install a firewire card yourself... the only tools needed to install a firewire card are a pair of scissors and a screw driver (If you is Ghetto & if you don't got no screwdriver - you may use a butter knife as a screwdriver).

fire wire card installation

The FireWire Card was installed on an Emachines Model T6410 made by Gateway. The computer originally came with a firewire card but the computer was damaged during a relocation/address change (shipping process) & the original mother board had to be replaced with a new motherboard that came without a firewire card.

The firewire card is a 3 port PCI adaptor IEEE 1394 made by TRENDnet. The TRENDnet firewire card came with (included) a 6/4 pin firewire cord.

Nice Video. Pretty damned good video tutorial considering that you were recording and operating the camera with one hand while installing the card with the other hand. Multi Tasker, huh. I installed my own card too. Nice.
